The new Studio Fix Soft Matte Foundation Stick was announced yesterday on the brand’s Instagram with the caption “Perfect, conceal, contour, highlight. 24-hour, multi-use Studio Fix Soft Matte Foundation Stick arrives this September.”
Taking everything that beauty editors love about the Studio Fix range - long wearing, impressive coverage with sophisticated textures and a natural, mattifying finish - MAC has stepped up the game with the new launch to create a solid stick (hello, perfect travel partner) that does it all.
I tried the world's first 'Foundcealer' and totally loved it
The convenient new foundation stick is available in a full spectrum of 33 shades, and offers 24-hour wear of medium, matte coverage - and we predict it’ll be in many makeup artists’ kits come September.
Making light work of applying a flawless base, the stick can be used as a foundation, concealer and contour, and you can swipe it directly onto skin for precise application that allows you to apply as much or as little as you need. Makeup sticks have had a revival over recent months (with even skincare sticks emerging as the next generation) and MAC’s new arrival proves why they’re such a handy essential for any beauty buff; they’re versatile, quick and easy and they save us space by condensing multiple products into one.
I tried the MAC foundation that *everyone* is talking about and it definitely lived up to the hype
The finish is designed to reflect the recent trend of minimalist, barely-there foundation. “There is a definitely ‘real skin’ moment happening right now,” commented Terry Barber, MAC Director Makeup Artistry in London.
“We’re not talking rawness here, or the whole no makeup, makeup thing. It’s premium skin; enhanced, plumped, smooth and packed with moisture. Matte in the past was associated with dryness and dullness, whereas the new matte is about soft focus and blur with no blanket coverage and light hitting in all the right places.”
We’re sold. The new foundation is available from 5th September at all MAC locations and MAC’s website.
