From the fancy to the pharmacy brands...

05 Mar 2018

No matter what award show it is, the beauty desk at GLAMOUR UK is always waiting with baited breath to see the jaw-dropping hair and makeup looks. Last night's Oscars were no exception.

From punchy red-pink lips to sleek updos and shimmery smoky eyes, the red carpet inspiration keeps us going long after the show is over. And thanks to the makeup artists and hair stylists Instagramming behind-the-scenes, we know exactly what products have been used on our favourite faces...

Emma Stone's rosy glow

When? 2018 Oscars

Cheeky girl! Last year’s #oscars #bestactress winner #emmastone looking powerfully feminine in soft pink blush, metallic burgundy eyes, navy liner and transparent glossy Fuschia 👄 #rachelgoodwinmakeup for NARS #narsissist @narsissist @kiehls #kiehls #sponsored

A post shared by Rachel Goodwin (@rachelgoodwinmakeup) on

Emma was all flushed and pretty in pink for the Oscars, with a navy liner used for subtle definition on the eyes. But the real jaw-dropper was when makeup artist Rachel Goodwin made us go ga-ga over the pretty cheek palette used – a newbie from Nars – Wanted Blush. Feast your eyes...

Taraji P. Henson's badass lip look

When? 2018 Oscars

BTS In love with the Cocoa. Prepping @tarajiphenson's skin with @vaselinebrand's Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion for a red carpet glow to last the entire epic night. #vaselineintensivecare is made with deep healing moisturizers and #VaselineJelly it’s the perfect formula to compliment #Tarajis youthful skin #getglowing BTS  #Radiant #Oscars2018 #vaselinepartner stay tuned for the #makeup look breakdown #ashuntasheriffbeauty

A post shared by Ashunta Sheriff-Kendricks (@ashuntasheriff) on

Taraji looked fierce in a keyhole black gown, but it was the lip look that had us quickly Googling who her makeup artist was. Ashunta Sheriff provided the goods, revealing that she mixed two shades from The Lip Bar together – Liquid Matte Creme in Savage and Drama Queen. And of course, Vaseline's Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion, £5.99, was used to give her skin that extra glow.

Elizabeth Moss's punchy pink lip

When? 2018 Oscars

Elizabeth Moss was all class in a rose gold sequinned gown but turned up the heat with a hot fuschia lip. We spotted the bullet via makeup artist's Daniel Martin's Instagram, and our guess is Dior's Addict Lacquer Stick, in Diablo 684, £27.50.

Beyoncé's skin & makeup

Lady Gaga's starry night makeup

When? 2018 GRAMMY Awards

Lady Gaga's dark, shimmery eye makeup had us floored. The genius behind her statement eye was makeup artist Sarah Nicole Tanno, who blessed us with the full product list on her Instagram.

View this post on Instagram

Gaga’s eyes were inspired by a dark starry night. Romantic and striking to compliment the gorgeous #ArmaniPrivé creation. I rimmed her eyes heavily with @marcbeauty #Blaquer Highliner Gel Crayon and blended all over the lid. I winged the shape to a sharp point using Magic Marc’er in Blaquer. I next blended A soft shimmery peach all the way to the brow bone using Glambition Eyeconic palette. I next added the sparky back from the Edgitorial palette to blend the transition together. Coats of my favorite #VelvetNoir mascara and lastly sparsely applies a loose silver glitter from Lit. I’m very excited about the newest #marcjacobsbeauty foundation called #Shameless. I used shade Y270. This foundation is luminous but self setting, so no need to use a ton of powder. My dream come true. I put a soft veil of pink blush on her cheeks using Airblush in Kink & Kisses. I tapped a bit of dew drops in high points of skin for a sheer elegant glow. For the lips I used Prim(rose) lipliner and Le Marc Lipstick in Cream & Sugar #ladygaga #marcjacobsbeauty #sarahtannomakeup @thewallgroup #twgartists Photo by @hannahkhymych Styled by @tomeerebout & @sandraamador.xx #Hair by @fredericaspiras Nails by @naominailsnyc #haus #hausofgaga

Nicole Kidman's lips and lashes

When? 2018 SAG Awards

Nicole Kidman had a certain glow about her at this year's SAG awards, featuring a berry pout and fully loaded lashes. The lip colour in question turned out to be Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine in Velvet Wine and the mascara was also Neutrogena - a new product called the Hydro Boost Plumping Mascara. Both are yet to launch in the UK, but fingers crossed these affordable buys will make it to our shores soon.

Gal Gadot's lip colour

When? 2018 Golden Globes
Gal wowed us with her bold lashes, chic updo and berry lip. The latter of which you can pick up for under eight quid at Boots. Makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani told Allure, she used Super Lustrous Lipstick in Bombshell Red £7.49 Revlon, saying: "Instead of being a classic red, this is like deeper — almost like a wine — red. It felt more modern and fresh."
