Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga's electropop sound caught on with global audiences in 2008 when her debut album, appropriately called The Fame, was released. It earned her six Grammy nominations and topped charts worldwide, propelling her to become a global superstar. The singer's unique style - and trademark ever-changing hair - has been commented on almost as much as her music. She is famous for her sky-high heels and avant garde outfits. In 2010, Glee devoted an entire show to her music, performing Poker Face and Bad Romance. Gaga followed up the success of her debut album with a third EP, The Fame Monster (2009), and her second full-length studio album Born This Way (2011). Gaga's commercial success allowed her to embark on the eighteen-month long Monster Ball Tour, which later became one of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time. In January 2011, Gaga was rumoured to be engaged to on-off boyfriend Luc Carl but in May 2011 she alluded to their split, saying on the Graham Norton Show: "I don't have a boyfriend." In September 2011 she was linked to Vampire Diaries star Taylor Kinney who played her love interest in her music video for You And I. The pair dated for five years and became engaged on Valentine's Day 2015 before ending their relationship in July 2016. Gaga made her debut film appearance in action movie Machete Kills in October 2013, before going on to star in American Horror Story: Hotel, which premiered in October 2015. She received a Golden Globe nomination for the role. She released her third studio album, Artpop in November 2013, a collaborative album with Tony Bennett, Cheek to Cheek, in September 2014 and Joanne in October 2016. She ended her engagement to Christian Carino earlier this year and is now rumoured to be dating monitor engineer Dan Horton.
